COMBLOUX CHALET
Perched high on a hillside in the French Alps, this alpine home is designed to hold its ground quietly — private and grounded on arrival, then completely open to the extraordinary views beyond.
Timber and plaster cladding echo the surrounding vernacular, blending the home into its alpine setting with warmth and humility. From the road, the house presents a modest, low-profile façade — shielding the interior from passing views. But step inside, and the spaces unfold upward and outward, with the upper-level living areas capturing sweeping vistas of the Valley below and soaking in every drop of alpine sun.
Bedrooms are tucked below for quiet and calm, while the main living spaces are elevated — creating a sense of arrival and retreat. Every element of the design is oriented toward the landscape, making it feel as though the mountains are not just a backdrop, but part of the home itself.
